Welcome to the Dahlonega Tea Party website.  Our goal is to promote well-informed, active participation in local, state and federal government.  Check out our links, read our posts and look to our calendar for local meeting dates and times.

Just what is the Tea Party?

We are a collection of individuals who are disappointed with the direction that our country seems to have taken.

We expect business and individuals to be responsible and successful without needing taxpayer support.

We oppose the use of borrowed money for current operations and will support candidates who will do whatever is needed to eliminate the national debt as soon as possible. We want a Balanced Budget Amendment that cannot be exceeded without a vote of 2/3 of the members of each branch of Congress.

Tea Party success in the elections of 2010 makes us a target of those who prefer government control to individual rights and responsibility. We recognize the ignorance of those who make false allegations. We expect Tea Party members to be honest and honorable in their assessment of the opposition.

Eonomist Arthur Laffer has been quoted as saying, “The tea party is not the problem, the tea party may well be the solution. They are critical to the future of the country in a positive way. They are the only fiscally sound people I know out there all the time.”

Tea Party members are very concerned that the people of our country and persons they elect to public office are not familiar with the rights and responsibilities guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.
